Bewitched Bedchambers

Abner & Gladys Kravitz

This room pays homage to three great stars in Bewitched, Alice Pearce & Sandra Gould whom both played Gladys. Gladys was the nagging, irrepressibly nosy neighbor Gladys Kravitz in the "Bewitched" (1964) sitcom. Ideally teamed with George Tobias as her hen-pecked husband, Abner, the two provided non-stop hilarity -- her frightened gulps, blank stare and confused exasperation coupled with his dour disgust was comedy heaven. This room is strategically place on the first floor, near the front sun porch. It is equipped with a collection of Binoculars and a one of -a-kind Kravitz coat of Arms.

Darrin II Dick Sargent

This is a first floor room which pays homage television fans as the “other Darrin” on TV’s Bewitched, actor Dick Sargent replaced Dick York in the role of mortal husband “Darrin Stephens,” when York was forced to leave the show due to a back injury. Sargent played the part from 1969 until the end of the show’s run in 1972, and no explanation was ever given to the audience for the change in actors.

Dr. Bombay

After helping the "Man From U.N.C.L.E." with two missions ("one a two-parter and one 'The Mother Muffin Affair' with Boris Karloff in drag as Mother Muffin') in 1966, Bernard became one the busiest men in Hollywood in 1967. He not only became a regular on "Bewitched" as eccentric warlock Dr. Bombay, but also he began his recurring role as Col. Crittenden on "Hogan's Heroes." ("He was such a blathering idiot," Bernard laughs.) Bernard continued with both highly rated series until their final seasons-1970-71 for "Hogan's" and 1971-72 for "Bewitched."

Aunt Clara

One of the great character actors, a small, stocky, plumpish lady with a sweet face, small heart-shaped mouth and quizzical eyes, she was born August 12, 1888 (some sources say 1883, others 1886) in the small mining town of West Pittston, Pennsylvania of Scottish and English immigrant parents. Her acting career began with training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and performances in stock theatre in Connecticut. She made her Broadway debut in 1905 and also appeared successfully on the London stage. Her room is dedicated to her and her hobby of collecting door knobs.

Miss Moorehead lived in the Italian-style Beverly Hills house once owned by Sigmund Romberg, which she calls "Villa Agnese Agnes room was decorated as if she had it done herself. The walls are faux painted, and the trim around the top was designed just for the room. It provides our guest with the feel of a villa in Venice, Above the bed are gold drapes, and there is a great sitting area near the window. The en-suite full bath has a tub and a shower.

Uncle Arthur

Paul Lynde's lopsided, toothy grin is a hallmark of his art as a comedian of stage, screen, and television. It is a grin of size and significance, and at once quizzical, sardonic, and self-conscience. Paul's two most famous characters--Uncle Arthur on Bewitched and "Chronically cranky Paul Lynde was the show's slyly sarcastic center square.". We have an original art work with Paul Lynde exemplifying his roll on Hollywood Squares. His room is dedicated to being bright and fun.

Samantha & Darrin I

At the very center of this classic show was Elizabeth Montgomery’s portrayal of a beautiful, good-hearted witch named Samantha, a character rare in 1960’s television. A strong, independent woman with the world at her finger tips--or a twitch of her nose. Equally determined was her mortal husband Darrin Stephens played originally by, a talented advertising executive with McMann & Tate. He was obsessed with leading a normal, conservative lifestyle, and fearless enough to stand firm against the most powerful witch or warlock. Their room provides a glimpse into life in the 1960's and 70's. The Suite is done with chair rail and wall covering from the 70's and a brass King sized bed. Stevens family photos, books and memorabilia surround this comfortable room.
